Its difficult to tell what the problem is without knowing more about your Kodi installation. Usually, they come with all kinds of unofficial addons pre-installed, and they make troubleshooting quite a bit more difficult. Dont see it flicking anymore even though I can see the ethernet connection icon in the top left corner and see that it is connected to the ethernet in the Settings menu. Not sure if this info helps as well but i do use a VPN. We can also rule out your internet connection as a cause, since if your speeds dropped too far, youd simply be returned to the previous screen, not kicked out of Kodi entirely.
